1. Qutub Minar, Delhi

Qutub Minar is the UNESCO World Heritage site in India, which is in Delhi. It shares an example of Indo-Muslim architecture and a symbol of unity; this skyscraper is 73 (239 feet) meters high with the 379 spiral staircases.

Qutub Minar was made by Qutub ud Din Aibak in 1192 but completed by his son in 1805. This structure also consists of iron pillars that are 2,000 years old and still not rusted. To reach Qutub Minar is easy, much local transport is available. Visiting hours are from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.

2. Taj Mahal, Agra – Historical Places in India

The Taj Mahal is located at the south banks of river Yamuna in the city of Agra. It’s not only called crown of the palaces, but it is also the crown of India. It is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Mughal Emperor Shan Jahan constructed it in the loving memory of his wife in the year 1631.

3. Red Fort, Delhi – Historical Places in India

One of the most ancient and magnificent monuments of India is the Red Fort in Delhi. It constructed from 1638 to 1648; it took over ten years to fully complete. On 15 August of each year, The Prime Minister hosts the Indian flag from Red Fort.

The Red Fort covers an area of 254.67 acres and height measures from 18 meters to 33 meters. It has a look and feels of the Mughal era. The main attraction of this fort is the Lahori Gate; it is the main entrance to the Red Fort. And the other Delhi gate is for the public access. Timing to visit the fort is from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm.

4. Orchha Fort, Madhya Pradesh

The Orchha Fort is in Madhya Pradesh. This fort consists of temples, beautiful palaces, and monuments. According to the documents, the fort and other structures were made by the King Rudra Pratap Singh in the 16th century.

The Gateway of India is a monument, built in the 20th century by Britishers in 1924. This place is located in the city of Mumbai. It is one of the most famous historical places in India to be visited by visitors. When Britishers ruled India, they wanted an entry and exit point from where they can operate all the tasks.

That’s why the Britishers made Gateway Of India in 1924. The place always packed with tourists and street vendors. Even certain events and gatherings are also used to happens. The height of Gateway of India is 85 feet, and the diameter is approximately 15 meters.

6. Meenakshi Temple, Madurai

Meenakshi Temple is a historic Hindu temple located on the riverbank of Vaigai of Tamil Nadu, built by King Kulasekara Pandya in the year 1190 to 1216. The king made the central and essential portion of the temple. Inside the temple, there are ancient remaining parts of the temple.

This temple is dedicated to Goddess Meenakshi. Unlike many other temples in south-India, they are devoted to Lord Shiva. Around 16th and 17th-century temple were rebuilt by the Nayaka dynasty ruler named Vishwanatha Nayak, the sculptures and art are tremendous, one can never forget such art and design.

7. India Gate, Delhi – Historical Places in India

All India War Memorial was the older name of India Gate made in 1931, which is at Rajpath in Delhi. The main attraction of this place is that you can see all 70,000 soldiers and servicemen, who had died in the First World War. The soldiers were part of the British Indian Army. India Gate is a massive attraction for the people over there.

Tourist from all over the world visits India Gate. Underneath the India Gate, there is a flame which represents the sacrifice of the soldiers. The fires are in the metal container; each contains a permanent light or glow.

8. Charminar, Hyderabad

This place is the well-known landmark of the city Hyderabad. Charminar or ‘Arc de Triomphe of the East’ is famous for its four pillars. This landmark is globally famous for its old history and amazing structural work. In 1591 the ruler Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah constructed the Charminar. The height of this structure is 48.7 meters.

All the minars have a staircase to reach the top surface. Charminar consists of great artistic work, and you will find Mughal influenced work on Charminar. This monument is present in the list of the UNESCO World Heritage List. The team of the Archaeological Survey Of India manages the entire structure. Timing for visitors is from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm.

9. Golden Temple, Amritsar

The golden temple or Harmindar Sahib, Amritsar, is not only a Sikhs central religious place, but this place is also a symbol of human brotherhood and equality. One of the most critical attractions of this place is its unique architecture. The temple consists of a pool at the center of it; the third guru of the Sikh tradition created it.

This temple reconstructed several times because of the Muslim armies from Afganisthan that attacked the temple various times.  Maharaja Ranjit Singh rebuilt the golden temple in 1830, purely with marble and gold. 10. Sanchi, Madhya Pradesh

Sanchi is a town in Madhya Pradesh and is synonymous with Buddhist Stupas – Semi-circular arrangement classically surrounding relics of the Buddha and his followers. This place is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is home to one of the earliest Gupta temple and an example of great architecture.

Here you will find four gateways that demonstrate the life of Buddha and his teachings. At the archaeological museum, you will find an Ashoka’s pillar. It is finely polished with sandstone and is slightly tilted. This historical place is famous among travellers; that’s why the government has made such impressive accommodation facilities.
